A Heartwarming Journey: Big Brother Sam and Little Logan's Eight-Year Adventure

Building lasting relationships is at the core of BBBS volunteer initiatives, and the story of Big Brother Sam and Little Logan is a shining example of the positive impact such connections can have on individuals. This is a chronicle their incredible journey over eight years, showcasing the power of mentorship and the enduring bond between a mentor and mentee.

The Beginning of a Meaningful Bond

In August 2015, Big Brother Sam and Little Logan were matched through BBBS of the Central Blue Ridge one-to-one mentoring program, and little did they know, this connection would blossom into a beautiful friendship. As their match recently closed in January 2024 on Logan's 18th birthday, it marked not just the end of a chapter but the beginning of a lifelong bond.

A Successful Match

The duration of Sam and Logan's match is truly remarkable, surpassing the average match length in mentorship programs. The success of their relationship is a testament to the commitment and dedication both individuals and power of structured match support. Celebrating the closing of their match, we are proud to highlight this as a shining example of a successful mentorship.

Shared Adventures and Growth

Throughout their eight-year journey, Sam and Logan engaged in a variety of activities that enriched their bond. From enjoying ice cream at Chaps Ice Cream to hiking, attending sporting events, and taking leisurely strolls in the park, their shared experiences are a testament to the joy and growth that can come from such mentorship programs.
