Exciting Grant Awards

BBBS recently received wonderful news about grants from three long-time funders – Arby’s Foundation, The Bama Works Fund of the Dave Matthews Band at CACF, and City of Charlottesville Vibrant Community Fund.

Jennifer Duvall, Regional Vice President for Arby’s, nominated BBBS for a grant of $2,780 from the Arby’s Foundation. Philanthropy and community investment are important parts of Arby’s culture, from the local restaurants to corporate headquarters.

The Bama Works Fund of the Dave Matthews Band at CACF built on their partnership with BBBS with a grant of $5,000. The Fund received 174 applications totaling $1.7 million in requests for its Spring 2026 grantmaking cycle, further demonstrating the competitive climate for nonprofits that rely on philanthropic support to deliver on their mission and programming. Through the Fund, the Dave Matthews Band continues to generously invest in our community, helping nonprofits navigate increased demand for services, including BBBS.

The City of Charlottesville’s Vibrant Community Fund supports nonprofits across the spectrum that focus food security, housing, arts, education, environment, and more. The City also invests in the youth development infrastructure of our community, including a $60,060 grant to BBBS for 2026-27. An increase over recent grants, the award demonstrates the important role BBBS and similar youth-serving nonprofits play in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for local children.
